Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating works by pumping a controlled flow of warm water from any heat source through plastic tubing embedded in the floor. Because the emitting area is large, sufficient warmth is provided even on a cold winter day with no need for supplementary heating.

Percy Brown Ltd can supply a complete package of high quality from design to design and commissioning. Tailored manuals are provided to suit the heat source whether conventional boiler or heat pump.

Zoning

No home would have a single light switch for the whole property; similarly, it makes sense for the heating temperature in each main room zone to be individually controlled.

Percy Brown Ltd supply and install a range of thermostats from simple dial-type or brushed aluminium finishes to wireless thermostats and sophisticated self-learning options with add-on Internet connections.

Control of the underfloor heating system has a major effect on the energy efficiency of a building, therefore:

  • All gas/oil boiler systems operate with full time and temperature zone control.

  • Ground and air-source heat pump systems are controlled by weather-compensation sensors that detect the difference between inside and outside temperatures and adjust the heating accordingly to optimise efficiency and comfort.
